In all, Solid Capture is simply a toolbar that allows you to capture and save images. When you first install this program, you're given the option to choose a shortcut key, which takes you through a series of questions, allowing you to better customize the software to your needs. The program is designed with seven icons to choose from-three of which are your capture options, a resize tool, a properties tab (which allows you to assign hotkeys), a help button and a color magnifier, which is in our opinion, is the best part of this program. The color magnifier gives you the color values for any color over which your cursor hovers. The one editing feature Solid Capture offers is the ability to resize your images based upon their pixel height, but you can only see the image after opening it in a separate editing program.

Although Solid Capture is very easy to use, it is extremely limited. There are no features, only a handful of capture options and the only editing tool it offers is the ability to resize your images.

Solid Capture by VoyagerSoft gives you very little for a sizeable price tag. If you really want to invest in a good piece of screen capture software, we suggest spending ten more bucks and getting our #1-ranked program, SnagIt, which can capture nearly everything that comes your way.
